The first traces of settlers in the Dresden area were
the 6th century BC Germanic tribes which began a
rich and varied history.
If you've wanted to learn more about Dresden or

Be sure and visit Museum in der Runden Ecke (
Museum in the Round Corner) was once the Stasi
headquarters. It is now a sobering exhibition of what
life was like behind the Iron Curtain.
Bach & Mendelssohn fans will enjoy touring the
homes, museums and church where the highlights of
their careers have been preserved. Thomaskirche -
St. Thomas's Church is the home of the 800 year old,
internationally known St Thomas's Boys Choir, which
Bach served as Choirmaster. You can hear the choir
sing on Fridays & Saturdays.
