English Living Abroad is an online community that serves English-speaking residents in Dresden. The idea for this site was originated by an American who found herself suddenly immersed in a culture where she did not speak the language and was having trouble finding information about how to handle such basic things as Internet connections, haircuts, and well, just about everything!

Feeling overwhelmed and confused, she realized others might be experiencing the same thing and knew her experience as the owner of a web and graphic design business could provide the solution! Hence, she embarked on a mission to build a global community for English speakers to enable them to get connected, organize activities and share information.

Her vision, now beginning with Dresden, includes a place where people can discover answers to their questions, learn about community events, get information about local businesses and find people with similar interests. Her ultimate goal is to bring English Living Abroad to other European cities with a growing number of English speaking residents and build a global community that connects us all.
